Response to the spread of new coronavirus infection disease (Covid-19)
Audax Japan has asked the organizers of brevet events under the control of Audax Japan to refrain from holding all brevet events (BRM, RM, Fleche, Trace, SR600 and AJ-Permanents) until August 2020.At the end of January 2020, the first case of infection was confirmed in Japan, and in response to the subsequent spread of the disease, the Japanese government and local governments have issued various requests for the prevention of close contact with crowded people in enclosed space and refraining from going outside.
As long as there is even a slightest possibility to spread the new coronavirus, it is more important for Audax Japan to fulfill its social responsibility to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus than its responsibility to provide the brevet event.
Audax Japan, therefore, has asked the organizers of brevet events under the control of Audax Japan to refrain from holding all brevet events from April 6, 2020 to August 31, 2020.
Regarding the event after September 2020, further request will be made in accordance with social conditions in August 2020 or earlier.
This request is effective today.
Audax Japan will continue to monitor the spread of the new coronavirus, announcements and requests by the Japanese government and local governments, and will notify the organizers of new requests and changes as necessary.
Thank you to the board members and organizers for their contributions to these difficult decisions.
We hope that all the organizers, brevet participants and their families will stay healthy, beat the new coronavirus and return to a situation where they can participate in brevet again without hesitation.
April 6, 2020
Hisanori Tanaka
President of Audax Japan
